Case Studies on Climate Action and Emissions Reduction​

Climate Action and Emissions Reduction is the 1st pillar of the technical support for implementing the European Green Deal and is a representation of the areas for governance and capacity building while also reflecting the projects implemented by Directorate-General for Structural Reform to date in support of the European Green Deal, illustrated below. This pillar focuses on reducing greenhouse gas emissions while ensuring a sustainable transition towards a low-carbon economy.

The content of “Climate Action and Emissions Reduction” of the GET-AHED Green Champions Training addresses one of the key pillars for the technical support for implementing the European Green Deal key areas to help HEIs meet these green goals in terms of;

  • Awareness: Ensure participants understand the concept of a climate action and emissions reduction and its importance in addressing climate change.
  • Knowledge: Provide insights into the key policies and initiatives of the European Green Deal related to climate action and emissions reduction.
  • Skills: Develop practical skills for identifying and implementing sustainable practices related to climate action and emissions reduction practices within institutions.
  • Attitudes: Foster a positive attitude, behaviour and action towards sustainability and a commitment to contributing to climate action and emissions reduction.
